Veterans Dinner, Dance and Fireworks

Description: Ham Lake will celebrate its fifth annual Veterans Dance and Fireworks celebration on July 4th in Lions Park. The
event, sponsored by the Don Hansen VFW Post, will feature a community dinner, dance, and fireworks celebration.
“The whole community is involved, and it will be a fun day to celebrate right here close to home,” said Don Wilson, manager of the VFW.
The party runs from 2:00 in the afternoon to the conclusion of the fireworks, about 10:30 at night. Activities during the day will include the familiar dunk tank, with some prominent local people volunteering to get wet.
The VFW Men’s Auxiliary will prepare their famous grilled pork chops as well as hamburgers and hot dogs. Dancing will run from 6:00 to 10:00.
Each year an organization is honored with a special presentation at the 4th of July celebration. This year the Don Hansen Men’s Auxiliary will receive the plaque. “They’re just the second men’s auxiliary formed in Minnesota,” said Don Wilson. “Their contributions to the VFW and to the community have
been invaluable.”
