A professional foot care nurse is available every 6 weeks. Generally this service is held on a Monday starting at 9:00 a.m. until every foot is cared for at the low cost of $24.00. Call the Senior Center at 763-434-0455 for dates. Appointments not required.
During the months of February thru April on Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Tax Assistance is available. Please bring a copy of last year’s tax return, any W-2s from employment, 1099’s for pensions, interest, social security, miscellaneous income and any other forms showing income received, your Social Security Card, records of contributions and medical expenses. To complete a rent credit, a CRP form from your landlord is required. This is a free service offered for senior citizens, persons with a disability, or those meeting income guidelines. An additional day in April is offered to help fill out property tax refunds.
Health Insurance Counseling
Assistance to Anoka County residents about Medicare, choosing or changing a supplement, prescription drug options, Medicare bills Medical Assistance programs and more. This counseling is available on the 3rd Tuesday each month by appointment only at the Ham Lake Senior Center. Please call 1-800-333-2433 for an appointment.

A range of pamphlets, books and leaflets are available on senior housing, senior care, senior legal rights, senior health issues, caregivers, resource guides and more.
Periodically a speaker is invited to speak on the needs or interest of the senior community. Hearing, strokes, vision, sleep apnea, Medicare Part D, and Anoka County Resources are a few of the topics of interest.
Twice a month the HLCS mini bus will take seniors to WalMart or Target to get basic needs. The bus also stops at a grocery store and a local bank. This service is sponsored by The Ham Lake Lions.
