Senior Center Activities
Drop-in for a fresh cup of coffee and rolls Monday thru Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This is a good chance to sit and chat with fellow seniors, play a game of cards, a board game, or put together a puzzle.
Exercise Classes are being held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. There will be no charge for the class.
Bingo is held the last Wednesday of the month following lunch. Each participant gives 10¢ per card with a maximum of 2 cards per game. All proceeds go to the winners.
Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. Each player puts in a $1.00. All moneys go back to players in prizes.
Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. Get your friends together for a game.
A jam session is held on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. and the third Tuesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. This event is open to the public. All musicians and spectators are welcome to come and jam.
The Ham Lake Senior Center has a mini-bus with a 15 person capacity and is handicap accessible. The mini-bus provides transportation to the senior center for scheduled activities, senior dining, and scheduled outings. There is a suggested donation of $2.00 for a round trip.
The Senior Center sponsored meal is served on Monday and Wednesday for a cost of $7.00 for those 55 and older, and $10.00 for those younger than 55. Reservations for meals need to be made a week in advance. Call before noon on the Wednesday of the week before if you would like to join us on Monday, and Monday by 1:00 pm for Wednesday.
The doors are always open to new diners to join those that are already enjoying a delicious meal. Participants can have a good time dining and socializing with friends and enjoy the many events scheduled around the meal.
Birthday dinners are celebrated on the last Wednesday of each month at noon. Members with a birthday that month will receive a coupon for a free senior dining meal at a later date.
Wii Bowling Leagues
Fall and Winter leagues play every Wednesday, with a banquet following the winter session. Wii games are available to play anytime during office hours.
Many times during the year, the HLSC minibus is on the road filled with seniors to attend theater performances, tour museums, attend concerts, take mini cruises, fishing trips, or “Whatever!” Senior group outings are also scheduled for extended tours. These outings are scheduled with the suggested interests of the seniors that are presented to the Ham Lake Senior Center Board.
