City Elections

City elections for Mayor and Councilmembers are held the Tuesday after the first Monday of November in even-numbered years. The Mayor's term is four years; Councilmembers' terms are also four years. Councilmembers are elected "at-large."

CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE FILING

In the General Election on November 5, 2024, Ham Lake voters will elect two Councilmembers at large for four-year terms. The filing period for those offices begins at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. The filing fee is $25.00. Candidates are to file for office with the City Clerk at Ham Lake City Hall, 15544 Central Avenue NE, Ham Lake, MN 55304. Elections for other county, state, and federal elections are also held the Tuesday after the first Monday of November.

Application deadline: You can apply for a ballot any time during the year, except the day of the election. Please make sure to leave adequate time for election officials to mail your ballot. You must return your ballot by Election Day.
